It's difficult for Australia to set fresh records.

The top summits have been successfully scaled.

This is the unit that has claimed seven Cricket World Cups, plus another six T20 titles, and earlier maintained nearly four years undefeated in 50-over cricket.

The remaining milestones, the ones sought by the achievement hunters, are what's still available for a team that has won it all.

The fact it required as late as Sunday's victory by three wickets over India for them to complete their first ODI chase over 300, regaining their record for the highest in women's cricket's 50-over format, is, honestly, a testament to the pitchers that have worn canary yellow over five decades.

It's challenging for their hitters to hold a record if not provided the possibility.

Finally, the result of Australia conceding 330 was skipper Alyssa Healy receiving an opportunity to produce her newest gem.

Originally famous as the teenage relative of celebrated previous Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she made her debut in 2010 after her country failed to win either of the T20 or ODI World Cups from the prior year and has witnessed all through 15 successful years since.

Success in the T20 World Cup arrived three months after her first appearance and seven world titles have followed from 10 efforts across formats.

The gritty keeper was present as well in Derby in 2017 when a semi-final defeat by India briefly halted the winning streak.

That loss "motivated us to reevaluate our levels," Healy commented earlier.

At the following one-day championship in New Zealand, Healy hit 170 against England in the final and was named player of the tournament. She guaranteed her country would not fail again.

Whether this recent magnificent innings exceeded that prior achievement can be debated.

Many contend the argument supporting championship match pressure. Different voices suggest with the difficulty that comes when confronting a historic chase and a loud pro-India audience of 20,000.

What's clear is this ton was far harder to see coming.

The New Zealand onslaught in 2022 occurred when she led the batting statistics, but this performance came after six matches in India from the beginning of the previous month in which she had been unable to reach 30.

"If you've been watching me in practice sessions, it's been a frustrating experience because it seemed my form was missing completely," commented Healy.

"Yet the moment you take the field, your fighting spirit activate and you completely engage with the contest."

Healy's competitiveness has consistently been her key asset - and an irreplaceable characteristic in replacing iconic ex-skipper Meg Lanning.

She was troubled by India's promising player Kranti Gaud in recent ODI series, dismissed by the young fast bowler in each encounter, but here that only provided Healy's spark.

A single came off Gaud's first delivery and from that point Healy was on her way.

"A chance to take the field and lock in a contest with her and merely enjoy the moment in that aspect, sort of got me going," commented Healy.

She got to fifty in 35 deliveries - her quickest at the World Cup - and her hundred in 84 balls as she flogged anything short, scoring 21 fours and three sixes.

By the time she was removed her side required another 66 at run per delivery - a manageable total now needing a comfortable finish.

"Pursuing 330 is new territory so I'm pleased we have the assurance to do that now," added Healy.

"Hopefully we don't have to do it again but, if necessary, we believe we can succeed."

That comment will be the final thing Australia's opponents at this championship need to hear.

In recent days a feeling they will succeed regardless of circumstances has grown stronger - this victory following win against Pakistan by 107-run victory despite sitting at 76-7 at one point.

Next Australia play Bangladesh before a match against traditional opponents England in Indore in ten days, by which point a semi-final berth may well be secure.

It was in the semi-finals they were eliminated from the prior year's T20 World Cup in a surprising setback by South Africa - a game Healy couldn't play because of ruptured tissue in her foot as she guided Australia for the inaugural occasion at a major tournament.

Such is her determination, she later said she wanted to have participated despite the injury.

But while she afterwards confessed those physical issues have delayed plans to retire, this championship is expected to be her last as captain in ODI cricket and she is hasn't yet secured an international tournament as leader.

Victory in India would take her to the summit of her last major obstacle.
